2008

This past year has been a big year. My daughter started High School....which freaked me out. But she is doing great. My son started a new Preschool and has been doing very well. On a down note, my husband lost his job back in June and still has not been able to get another. He sends out resume's daily and has gone on a few interviews. Usually the place is in the transition of doing something and wants to wait until after the first of the year.

For 2009 I hope for my husband to find a good job, my daughter to continue to excel in school. Another big year will be upon us, my son will be starting kindergarten. I hope that he breaks out of this shyness he has by then and is able to communicate to his teacher and friends better. I worry about the little guy.

I hope all have a great 2009!!

Christmas

We had a good Christmas. Pete and I did not get anything for each other, Just the kids. My mom got the family a Wii. It is soooo coool!!! Jessie and Jake both had a good Christmas.

Pete still has not been able to find a job. Several interviews....just no one is hiring at this time. Work for me is going. They reorganized our department. I am now working more closely to the underwriters, which is pretty cool. They really haven't defined our position yet. So the last few weeks I, myself, have been helping the others transition to their new positions and help with the overflow of work others have. After the first of the year the managers will assign the divisions leads (me and 4 others) to actually projects. Should be interesting.

FAll

I love Fall. With the leaves changing color and the wonderful crisp smells of the air. HOWEVER, I HATE that it means Winter is around the corner! I just like the prettyness and wearing of sweatshirts and jeans or sweats. I HATE winter coats and driving in snow! Today on the news the weather man said the bad 4 letter word! YUCK!

We have all been pretty good. Pete starts a temporary could work into part time job today. Jake was off to preschool for all day all week. Big change for him. My daughter's high school has had a bomb scare so now have to all be checked as they enter the school. So stupid....why do kids have to be so stupid.

Work is okay....waiting for some kind of news to be delievered. Who knows if it will affect me or not. But, with all the meetings that have been going on...you just can feel that something is going to happen.

We have a BUSY BUSY week this week. Tonight I start my 2nd math class. Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Fri are running Jess around. Sat. is confirmation practice and Sunday is her confirmation.

Sara...I know we need to get together sometime!

Better get back to work!!

Homecoming Weekend

I'm so excited for homecoming!!! Well....I'm not going, of course...but Jessie and her friends are. Her first homecoming!! I just am still in shock that she is growing up so fast!! Tonight her and Pete are at the game. We are currently undefeated! I hope it turns out good tonight!

I had a horible headache this morning and went in late to work. It kinda lingered all day and is back again. I'm hoping Jake will go to sleep early...Well it is almost 8:30 so I will try to have him lay down soon. Then I can veg on the couch and watch the debate.

Pete found out for sure that the new dealership will not be opening. Therefore, he does not have a job to go back to. Guess we kinda figured that...but it is official now. Well, at this point. So, he feels a little more able to take a job if it is offered. Not that he couldn't of before...but he was really hoping to stay with the dealership. He has a few options out there. He is going to talk to a guy tomorrow...has a second interview next week. And our friend that works for IBM said that his boss pulled the applications and was going to start looking at them....so he may get a call soon.

So...keep us in your prayers.

What up...

Well, not much. Been pretty quiet around here. Work...well I hate. But that is just because I'm bored out of my freakin mind! But, it will be okay. Pete still hasn't heard anything about his job. Oh well...soon hopefully. We are going to take Jake down to just the preschool time for three days a week. That will be cheaper. Jessie is getting settled into the high school. She has joined drama club and spirit club. She was even talking about doing flag corp. next year with the marching band. She is making new friends. Homecoming is next weekend. Her and some friends are planning on going together. I think they will have a great time!

My math class was going pretty good...but now I'm stuck on this one thing. I'll have to email the instructor to see if she can help me. Jess and Pete were both trying to help me and couldn't get me to understand. I didn't really understand it much while in class....but it was 10:00 at night and I wanted to go home! I think if I can make it through the three math courses I need then I will be okay. The other classes aren't too bad for me. I've just never been great at math.

I really want to get my craft area in the basement cleaned up. Actually we want to get the whole basement cleaned up. That will be nice if we can get that done before Pete goes back to work. I'm hoping so! I would like to start doing some scrapbooking, sewing and whatever else! I've been feeling crafty lately! lol I saw something I want to try. Taking glass tile and braking them and gluing them to make a mosaic picture. I think one thing at a time! Like clean up the craft area! lol

Gotta go switch laundry, get Jake's bath ready and let the dog in. I'm going to color Jessie's hair when she gets home. She will have green streaks for homecoming this week!

Nothing much

Nothing much going on around here. Tired of working, tired of being fat and tired of a messy house! That is about all. I was going to take a half day today so I could clean the house a bit and work on my homework. But, I don't know if that will happen....being that it is already noon. Oh well....Maybe later in the week.

Pete still doesn't know anything about his job. It is driving him CRAZY! He is so ready to go back to work. He did apply to some places last week. And was going to do a little searching today. Maybe something will happen.

The kids are doing good. Jess is finally getting settled into high school. Jake is loving his new school. He does give Pete the sad eyes and starts to cry before he leaves...but the teacher says "cmon jake" and he is off.

Welp, guess I better get back to finding something to work on. I have just about everything done here at my desk and another girl's desk who is out. I just need to go home! :o)

We Made IT!

Welp, we made it through the first day of High school & preschool. Jessie started high school yesterday! I can't believe it! And Jake had his first official day of preschool. He has had preschool before but this is at his "new" school. He does really good and is more interactive with the teachers and kids then he was with his other school. Jessie is a little bummed because she doesn't have her normal friends she use to eat lunch with last year in her lunch this year. And herfriends are not in too many of her classes. Both yesterday and today she has come home stressed and worn out. I'm sure after a few weeks she will get the hang of things.

Pete still does not know what is going on with his job. I feel bad because I know he is tried of sitting at home. It is frustrating for him. Hopefully we will hear something soon....but then again, we have thought that before!

I hope she's not sick...

Well, my daughter starts school next week. Of course she hasn't had strep in over a year. When she does get it, it knocks her out and we somtimes end up in the ER. Well, over the weekend she started not feeling good and her throat was hurting. Therefore, she has an appointment today at the doctors. I hope they give us antibiotic so we can nipp whatever this is before next week.

Tonight is orientation for 9th grade! So sick or not, we will be going so she can see where her classes are and we can learn high school rules. lol

My son started a new school last week. He will go three days a week until my husband is back to work. He really enjoys it. He is making friends and actually talking and playing with the teachers and other kids.

Well....lunch is over. Guess I will get back to work.

Stressed

I have to confront some fellow employees today....I am really nervous. These girls can be vicious!! Oh well....It is time for me to stand up and not be a follower. If they think I'm a bitch well then so be it!

Wish me luck!!

The end of a LONG week

Well last week was fair week. We weren't too busy, but boy did it seem like a long week at work! They are talking about having options of 4 10hour days...I dont know if I could stand to be there for 10 hours a day! But then like today, I was late coming in and had a meeting in the afternoon and could of stayed longer to finish up stuff. Actually working 10 hour days wouldn't work because the mornings are too hectic for us. I'm sure we could make it work, if we had too.

The kids are doing good. My daughter is suppose to be reading the last book she needs to for the summer break, To Kill A Mockingbird. I never read it, so I can't really help her on it. She just has to answer questions as she reads the book. It is due the first day school goes back. I think she is getting anxious for school to be back in. I also, think that she has a little crush on a certain boy! :o) She won't admit it though! lol

My son is doing good. Him and daddy being home together is starting to get to both of them. I think we are going to see about putting him back in day care for a few days a week. Besides preschool will be starting soon.

My husband thought he would be back to work by now, but that isn't happening. So, hopefully he will be back by the end of August. That is what he heard today anyway...that is the hope. Hopefully with our son going to school a few days a week will give him a whole day to work on stuff here at home. He has been able to accomplish some things.

I would like to see the downstairs bathroom toliot fixed, and the upstairs bathroom re-done. Along with the basement cleaned up and MY craft area set up. Maybe we can spend our winter down there.

We are hoping to get the house fixed up so we can possible put it on the market next year...again all depends on my husbands job. We are not sure if we want to live in a devlopment or get some acreage.

I've been doing okay...work has been getting to me. The girl that does my job with me, is going to go part time, then my cousin who is an underwriter will be going part time. They are going to job share. My cousin is actually getting a demotion/pay cut to come down to my level job. But that is what she thinks is best when she comes back from maternity leave.

Gotta get little one to bed!

Busy Busy

Well, not really too much going on. It just seems like we have been running a lot this last week. With my daughter's birthday and having a few dinners out, going skating, 4-H and just a lot of running for just her. Good thing my son is too young and not in anything YET! I'm sure by next year that will change since he will be old enough for soccer and t-ball.

Work has been busy, and crazy. I so just want to be able to leave....but that won't happen. Hopefully my husband will find out more on his job soon. It is getting frustrating not knowing when they will open up and when he will be back to work.

It was sorta a sad week saying good bye to family. Our family from AZ went home on Wed. We had a nice dinner on Tues. with all of them. The cool thing about their visit is that the family gets together. We don't get to do that much. Well, my son got to see my cousin's son more and they really got along great...my son actually started talking and opening up more! It has been great to see him interact with other kids and grownups and not be stuck up my butt the whole time!!!

Well...gotta go finish my sgetti.

What a Weekend

We had a great weekend with the corn festival and visiting with family. It was a lot of fun. Today is my daughter's b-day! I took the day off. She has fair project judging tonight and wants Taco Bell for her B-day dinner. We got to celebrate her b-day yesterday with my family and then later in the week we will get together with my husband's family. This is the first time we have done separate things....but with family in from out of town, we just felt it better.

I'll post more later....gotta get lunch out of the oven! Fish sticks and fries!

A hot one

Well they are predicting that today is going to be a hot and humid day! We are all suppose to go to my grandma's tonight for dinner....but it will be even hotter over there! Maybe we will just go to eat and then come home. I have off work tomorrow but am missing about three meetings...I'm torn as to take the day off....but I honestly don't think I can handle anymore of the laziness! I think I need a day off!! So, I'm just going to take it....screw it! Can you tell I'm a little bitter about things lately around here!

I guess I better go back to working....I need to get my reports done that were due the 10th.

What a Day

First off...I really miss my daughter! Even though the 14 year old attitude is rough on me...I still miss her! She will be home this weekend though.

We have been running with my family that is in from AZ. Last night my aunt from AZ made enchiladas and burritos....yummy!!! We were all stuffed. My husband opened the windows last night and turned off the A/C. It was so comfy this morning I didn't want to get out of bed to get ready for work....needless to say I was a few minutes late!

I'm taking Thursday off to get the house cleaned up for all our company this weekend. Starting Thursday is a Sweet Corn Festival here in our little village. The parade is Thursday, with fireworks on Friday and a corn hole tournament on Saturday which my husband and daughter will be doing. They have other fun things like, tug-of-war, corn husking contest and bands and rides for the kids. I don't let my kids ride the rides though...I don't trust rides that you set up in one evening!! But the biggest fun is the FAIR FOOD!!! That is right Sara I will be having fair fries this weekend! I know I know....you probably already had your summer fair food! :p

My grandma took my little one today for a few hours so that my husband could get a few things done around the house that he can't get done with him home. Hopefully he will be back to work in a few weeks....me personally am ready to quit my job! Seriously I'm getting tired of working with lazy people! Just my opinion! :o)

Well, my husband is back with our fast food Chinese!! yummo.

It's Party time!

Today is a big day! We are having a surprise 30th wedding anniversary party for my aunt and uncle. They are the only ones in the family that have stayed married! That is a huge thing! It is SO hot and humid today though. And everything is outside. But, it will still be fun. For a surprise our uncle and his family from AZ came up and some other out of state relatives also.

My daughter will be also getting ready to go on vacation with her friend and her family. They are leaving first thing tomorrow. So we will stay at the party for a few hours and then head home to get her ready.

Currently I'm doing laundry to make sure we have all her clothes clean and ready to go. I need to get my son dressed....he likes just staying in his jammies....which is fine, they are shorts. At least we have AC at home so it is not too bad inside....but later today outside...it will be one of those days that you sweat just sitting there!

Okay...I'm off to finish laundry and get motivated to finish getting things ready to go to the party.

My first blog

Okay...this is my first time. I thought I did this once...but it didn't do anything. So we will try again. lol

I'm hoping to be able to blog every day or every other day...this is a good way for me to journal my daily thoughts. I use to have a journal page, but didn't keep doing it. I have a myspace too, mostly to keep track of my little girl...and it is a good way to keep in touch with family in other states.
